Dylan Watson is a native Sydney-sider, who upon his return from America started his own sports recruitment agency – Southern Cross Athletes. Specialising in placing athletes on sports scholarships in the US college system.
Having grown up in South East Sydney, Dylan competed in representative sports for club and school throughout his junior years. He has represented an array of clubs, these include: Sydney University, UNSW and Dunbar Rovers at NPL level in football, amongst other sports.
In his time in America, Dylan represented Bryan College and won the AAC regular season conference in 2015 and made an NAIA national appearance in 2016, with the college ﬁnishing the regular season ranked 10th in the nation.
Whilst in America, he worked his way up the coaching ranks and obtained the USSF D licence in 2017. During his coaching tenure, he took charge of Chattanooga football club premier youth sides across the country, before making the switch in codes to rugby. Here he represented the Chattanooga rugby club, and in 2017 the club won their 5th straight True South Championship. He was then selected to play for the representative 7’s Legion Rugby Club, this involved travelling all around the United States competing on the national stage.
His agency is heavily focused on Soccer, whilst also providing a service for other key sports. With his connections and network of coaches, Dylan helps place athletes to the right programs that suit their degrees and playing needs.
Dylan has hands on experience playing college soccer, volleyball and rugby, whilst also coaching and studying an Exercise Health Science Degree in the United States. He has a thorough understanding of the college athletic system, this knowledge has been fostered through his vast experiences representing two universities whilst also competing, winning conferences and appearing in national tournaments.
His vision for SCA is to mentor young athletes in training, education and guide them through their entire college experience to obtain a scholarship and most importantly a degree.
